Valentine's Day!

Good Morning!  Today is Valentine's Day, a day which, if you don't have a Valentine, can make you feel sort of ...left out.  It doesn't have to be that way though.  You can make it what you want!  Besides, the color pink is so cheery - don't you think??  If you want to celebrate on your own, why not pick up one of these lovely gifts for yourself? (and me!)

I remember in grade school giving out little cards to my classmates.  I actually remember filling them out at home and bringing them into school.  They came in box of like 20 or so and looked a bit like these...

I just did a little post recently on this purse and my need for compartments here in case you missed it.  So this is my current satchel - 3 compartments.  The middle one zips completely but when unzipped all the way, it actually extends so I could put files or magazines in it.

I bought this cute little zipper pull at the Goodwill Store after digging around in a bin of trinkets - cute, yes?

My first compartment holds my makeup bag (because Mon thru Thurs I put my makeup on while I'm on the train commuting to center city Philadelphia, PA), and I have some hand wipes (again, the train...eww), a Tide stain release pen, blotting papers for my shiny face, my smart phone/Ipod and a cloth I use to wipe my phone with because the little smudges and fingerprints can be such a bother!

Second compartment holds my coupon organizer, Brighton sunglasses, various store discount cards, a pen from my favorite vacation destination (Couples Jamaica) and car keys w/ a couple Coach key rings (*yawn*)

And lastly in the third compartment my Bose earbuds to listen to smart phone/Ipod, wallet, various debit cards and an Am Ex gift card w/ less than $5 on it that I will probably never use but won't throw away, a bunch of game pieces from the grocery store which I must get to because I could be a millionaire and not even know it, and a pack of the most delicious gum on earth.

Not terribly exciting but I did enjoy peeking into the other purses and figured it was only fair.

Shoe Be Doo Be Do!

Good evening friends!  I hope you're having a fabulous weekend!  The hub decided yesterday that he wanted to get a new pair of running shoes and wanted to know if I wanted to go with him.  I certainly don't NEED any shoes but I wanted to just L@@K!

I promised myself that I was only going to purchase a pair of shoes if I happened to see a pair of kitten heeled, turquoise, patent leather shoes - that's it, no other shoe purchases!  So off we went to DSW or as I refer to it as....

SHOETOPIA! 

DSW stands for Designer Shoe Warehouse and it is a wondrous land indeed!  The minute you walk into the front door, your shoe senses are enveloped with the sight of rows and rows, and stacks and stacks of designer shoes all arranged by heel height!  The smell of leather fills the place and the designer names vary from Jimmy Choo to Guess, from Prada to Liz Claiborne, from Gucci to Coach!  All at HUGE discount prices!  HUGE.

What could possibly make a trip to DSW more exciting???  A Clearance Sale!

Being my thrifty self - I always head to the "back room"  That's where they keep the BEST bargains!

When they only have a pair or two left of a certain shoe, they move them to the back room and even bigger discounts to make room for MORE shoes!

Find your size and check the sticker for additional savings - up to 70% off already discounted prices...  I feel faint!!!!!!!!!!!  It's like being a kid in a candy store but the candy is shoes and I'm the kid!

They even have a small "Man Section" complete with leather chairs, ottomans and a TV (and shoes)!

I somehow managed to escape with only one pair (which were not kitten heeled, turquoise or patent leather!) so I consider myself lucky!  Oh, and I didn't even look at the purses!

More on my great score later!  This is all the hub's fault!

Inspiration Monday - Diane Kruger

Good evening friends!  I'm so nervous to be doing my first Inspiration Monday fashion post which is hosted by two birds.  This is the outfit I will attempt to interpret, I hope I do a good job!

So I actually own two - maybe three skirts and this one was pretty close so I chose to wear it...

I had the perfect cross body bag that I always fly with - keeps passports and other required items snug by my side! 

These are what I refer to as "sitting shoes" because they don't have a lot of cushion so you don't want to be walking around in them all day (as I found out the hard way!)
